Popular for marriage ceremonies, the Open Air Cathedral is a meditative place to visit. The Bexhill Church is also very popular, particularly for Midnight Mass at Christmas Eve, as it has a superb organ which is also used for organ recitals. The general store offers tourist information and a range of services.

BENTLEY

The Bentley Art Competition, an increasingly prestigious annual event, draws visitors from around the region to this tiny little village on the road from Kyogle to Lismore. Hundreds of artists from NSW and Queensland compete for various categories and the weekend is a festive occasion.

The settlement takes its name from Great Bentley in england, the birth place of pioneer Robert Barrington Dawson, who built Bentley Homestead in the 1870's.

DUNOON

That superb native Australian nut, the macadamia, reigns supreme at Dunoon, styled "The Macadamia Capital of Australia." Now surrounded by macadamia orchards and home to a processing plant on the outskirts of the village, Dunoon also has an impressive sports ground and club which hosts many different sports and a general store and nursery. The Whian Whian State Forest and scenic Rocky Creek Dam are also an easy drive away.

WYRALLAH

Once an important river town, Wyrallah is now a quiet little settlement a pleasant 10km drive from Lismore. On the Wilsons River, an important transport route in the early days, Wyrallah can also be viewed from a sightseeing cruise on the MV Bennelong.

The nearby Tucki Tucki Nature Reserve is a koala haven and there is an aboriginal bora ring in the grounds of the historic Tucki Tucki Cemetery.
